Studying for a course is never fun. There are so many other things you can be doing instead of spending 3 hours for a course that you don’t even like in the first place.

We totally understand where you’re coming from. But at the end of the day, you need to pass the course so that you can move on to the next semester.

Your GPA depends on you making that little effort right now so you don’t have to worry about failing college later.

We have just the tips for you that will help you get an A in your courses without having to worry about everything piling up in the last moment.

    1.    Go to class and take notes

This is the biggest thing that students struggle with. Morning classes are the worst, but you need to get out of your bed if you want that A.

Getting to class is important so that you can take notes. You’d be surprised at how much test and exam material consists of the notes you take in class.

This is part of studying smart. There is no point in going through the textbook, because your teachers certainly don’t have the time to do that either.

They have planned all their classes ahead, and what they teach you in class will be there on the exam.

So thinking that you can catch up by reading the textbook will not get you anywhere.

    2.    Befriend the right people

Make friends with people who you can study with. Group studying is actually very effective if there is someone who knows what they are doing.

It’s a win-win situation for both parties here, because smarter students will reinforce the concepts in their mind by explaining them to you.

This also involves being friendly with your professors. They won’t tell you what’s coming in the exam (it might slip) but they might be lenient with grading your paper. Show your professors that you are making the effort.

    3.    Reward yourself

Make a system for studying. Reward yourself if you meet your goals, so it keeps you motivated.

The reward can be anything: a night out with friends, going to a nice restaurant, or even watching a movie.

    4.    Don’t get distracted

If you spend even an hour of studying every day, without any sort of distractions like your phone or friends, it will be enough.

Go to the library, and put your phone away and just study with concentration.

You can try the Pomodoro Technique, which is basically when you work or study for 20 minutes straight and then take a 5 minute break. It is actually quite effective!

    5.    Don’t procrastinate

Don’t leave things for the last moment, night or hour. Seriously, don’t. It’s not fun cramming 10 classes worth of material in one night, and it won’t get you anywhere.
