Gearbox employees didn’t receive their pay as promised after the Borderland 3 launch

As everyone knows, Borderlands 3 is a very famous Role-playing first-person shooter video game developed Gearbox Software and Gearbox studio Quebec. This game really became a big hit and it literally crossed the sale expectation by its publishers and developers. They highly fulfilled their customers obviously, but they are not fulfilling their promises which they did to their employees.

Their employees worked behind this game very hard and merged there day and night to make their Super-hit and yes they succeeded in that. But the company is not paying them as much they promised to their employees.

Actually, from start itself, this studio pays less salary to employees to their staff as compared to another studio, but for that compensation, company shares their 40 percent profit margin with their developers on a quarterly basis and 60 percent get passed on to the owner and major pillar of this company.

The company promised its employees to give 6 digit price money as a bonus which really motivated employees to work hard behind this game. They even use to work on weekends to make this game a real hit and for sure they succeeded.

But after this success Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford starting saying employees that yes for sure they will receive bonuses, but that amount was not even near the up to hundreds of thousands that many expected, and he says that he took this decision after a great debate on this topic with six anonymous sources close to the studio.

In 2012 after the release of Borderland 2 many employees received such a great amount of bonus that they were able to afford a house for them but now this bonus will also not help them to even balance their plan they made. Even in the recent meeting, Pitchford offered developers that “If they are unsatisfied with the decision they may leave”, according to those who were attending that meeting.
